This is an original blend of sencha from Ujitawara, Kyoto and roasted brown rice from Shizuoka. It offers a soothing balance of flavors—delicate sweetness from the rice aroma and the gentle bitterness of sencha. Enjoy it both ways: steeped in hot water at 95°C or as a refreshing cold brew.
Hot
1 Warm the kyusu (teapot) and teacups with hot water. → This prevents a sudden temperature drop and helps the flavor come out cleanly.
2 Tea leaves: 3g for 200ml or 5g for 300ml Pour hot water at 85–90°C.
3 Steep for 60 seconds, then pour out every last drop. Second brew: Use slightly hotter water and steep for 20 seconds.
Cold Brew
1 Add 10–12g of Genmaicha to 1L of water in a pitcher.
2 Refrigerate for 4 hours. → Gently shake the pitcher halfway through for an even aroma.
3 Remove the tea leaves. Store in the refrigerator and drink within 24 hours.
